I am a self-taught artist who thoroughly enjoys painting the New England coastline in all seasons and colors. There are endless options for moody paintings in all of mother natures changing seasons.
My joy for painting and art appreciation began in High School and has continued to flourish into a second career. I am painting regularly, photographing feverishly so I can use the settings later for painting concepts.
My Process in Oils
Currently focusing on Seascapes
The feelings that a painting can conjure up are different for each viewer. I use Pallette knives and brushes for my oil paintings. I start a painting with an idea from a photograph or a location that inspired me to try and convey a mood or atmospheric condition. I start with a thin drawing in oil and begin to build color and values until the painting feels finished.
Watercolor is a fanciful medium which can enchant the artist and make the most amazing things happen when a color is mixed with another color and water. The translucent properties of the medium make for an exciting journey until the painting is completed.
My name is Lisa Froment and I’ve been painting boats and seascapes out my art studio for many years. I enjoy the play of color and light. I challenge myself with unique perspectives on traditional verses contemporary color schemes in my work in order to make each piece memorable. Work by lisafromentart.com is currently being exhibited at variety of galleries. Commission pieces are also available. I enjoy bringing an idea into a finished painting and seeing the amazement in my clients face.

Watercolor and Oil Paintings
My work is in watercolor or oils reflects and my subjects are boats and harbors of New England. The sky and water can take on many different colors when mother nature is in a mood. There is always something to paint at the shore or in many of the little harbors dotting the coastline.
